World Water Tech site visit to Fornham All Saints

Earlier in the year delegates from the World Water Tech conference came to visit our water recycling centre at Fornham All Saints. These were both international and locally based individuals, including many from our innovation supply chain partners, and they were able to get up close and personal with our operations and innovation work.

The delegates were able to experience the day to day running of the site, the constraints and challenges we face, and hear about many of our active innovation projects from members of the team. They were also able to explore the nearby greenhouses that are heated by the energy naturally created as part of the wastewater process, reducing the carbon footprint by 75% compared to a standard heated greenhouse. This project is a prime example of how the Water and Agricultural sectors can look to collaborate to reduce their environmental impact.

Alan Turton, Anglian Water Treatment Manager said, “We thoroughly enjoyed hosting the delegation on site, despite the wet weather we had great discussion and engagement, most importantly it was an opportunity to showcase the complexities and opportunities we work on every day!

A huge thank you to Giles Thurgill, Joe Hall, Marie Goldie, Gill Mills Catering and the whole Anglian Water Innovation team for ensuring the day ran smoothly and our delegates were well looked after!
